Microgaming is one of the most generous pokie operators in the online casino world. Although online gaming companies are not required to fund community projects in their jurisdictions, Microgaming does it anyways. This week, the company announced its latest charitable initiative which provides students in the Isle of Man with bursaries to help fund their educational pursuits.
Students across the Isle of Man will be able to receive bursaries from Microgaming, if they exhibit financial need. The company will provide bursaries worth up to £6000 a year to help cover accommodation and essential expenses. The funding will not cover course fees. “The youth of the Island are our future – this generation will shape the growth of the Isle of Man,” says Roger Raatgever of Microgaming
“It is essential that we provide them with the tools to reach their potential and that’s why we created this initiative. We are incredibly passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility and are proud of the contribution we make to the Island”. Microgaming has provided funding for various programs across the Isle of Man for years. The company has funded charities, healthcare initiatives, public events and sports leagues.
It is obvious that Microgaming is very invested in the development of the Isle of Man and the wellbeing of its residents. It is fantastic to see a gaming operator that is so charitable. The gambling market is often seen as self-serving, so operators like Microgaming are helping to dispel this common belief. Students have until 20 August 2014 to submit their applications. If you know any students in the Isle of Man, let them know.
