Full Tilt Poker was apprehended by the American government in April 2010, and the company has still not refunded all of its players. Now, the end is finally in sight, as Full Tilt a receive the green light from the Garden City Group to begin paying back its Red Pros. The Red Pro players were second-tier professionals. They were players that were sponsored by the site but not actually considered members of Team Full Tilt.
Instead, they were called ‘Friends of Full Tilt’, and received an hourly rate to play on the site. Their received generous rakeback and would sometimes be paid to play in tournaments or appearing in ads. When the site went under, all types of players – pros, amateurs and friends – lost millions of dollars in deposits and winnings. It wasn’t until February 28, 2014 that they finally started to see some repayment from the site.
The first players to be refunded were regular Full Tilt Poker players, who were not sponsored by the site in any way. After submitted applications, they receive their money back. Now, it is time for the Red Pros to file their refund applications, but some players are not pleased. Former Full Tilt players believe that the Red Pros should not be compensated since they were being represented by the site.
Even Former Red Pro Ryan Daul echoes these sentiments. According to CardsChat, he says: “Then there’s the part of me thinks I don’t deserve all, or even any of the money. I was a Full Tilt Pro for two and a half years”. Still, Team Full Tilt players have yet to receive withdrawals. There is no word yet on whether or not they will ever be able to access the money that they had on Full Tilt Poker.
