International Game Technology is making some big leaps in expanding across the international gambling market. One of the company’s most recent deals will see IGT expand into Latvia by teaming up with DLV. DLV is a gaming equipment and software provider in Latvia. The company has been around for over ten years, and it has become a trusted partner for clubs across the country.
DLV operates 50 gaming clubs in Latvia, most of which are located in Riga. The most recognizable brand from DLV in the country is “Zilais Dimants”, a gaming hall chain that offers up the latest pokies and casino technology. Over the course of the next two years, DLV will install IGT technology at all of its venues. 1000 machines will be placed n DLV clubs across the country.
The first phase of installations will be carried out this month, and there will be a steady rollout until 2016. DLV will make use of a number of IGT systems. Casinolink, Medialink and EZ Pay are all IGT-powered systems that aim to make the gaming experience simpler and more fun for players. For example, the EZ Pay system uses ticket-in ticket-out technology which eliminates the need for players to carry cash or coins around the casino.
When players collect their winnings, they receive vouchers which can be used to play other games or to simply make it easier to cash out at the end of the night. "This significant systems installation throughout multiple DLV properties in Latvia provides an excellent example of IGT's position as a global leader in wide-area casino management systems deployments," says Ian Baynes, Regional Vice President of IGT.
This is certainly an exciting undertaking for International Game Technology. It could help to boost the company’s profile in both land-based and online gaming markets while increasing stock prices and overall revenue.
