Today, SkyCity has announced that it will be a key sponsor for the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival for the next two years. SkyCity has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with the Winter Festival and looks forward to renewing its partnership with the iconic event. SkyCity Queenstown has been an important supporter of the Winter festival since the casino was first opened in 2000.
Ever since SkyCity obtained full ownership of the Queenstown casino in 2012, the company has taken on a bigger role in the event by offering an extended entertainment programme at SkyCity Queenstown and SkyCity Wharf Casino. “We are proud to have a long-term partnership with the festival,” says Michelle Baillie, SkyCity Queenstown’s General Manager.
“It’s a fantastic way for us to get behind the Queenstown community and be a part of the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest winter celebration”. Queenstown officials were eager to work with SkyCity in 2014, after the casino operator really helped to boost ticket sales last year. The Winter Festival ball saw a great response from community members, and organisers hope that they will see similar activity in 2014.
This year’s Queenstown Winter Festival will run from June 20th to June 29th. It is always an exciting event full of fun activities for families to enjoy. There is always a great display of winter sports like snowboarding and sledding, and visitors can take part in other thrill-seeking activities like bungy jumping and rafting. Tickets for the Queenstown Winter Festival ball always go quickly.
So, be sure to like the Queenstown Winter Festival on Facebook or check their website regularly at: http://www.winterfestival.co.nz/. SkyCity maintains an active role in the local community to help boost the profile of cities across New Zealand. In recent years, the casino operator has done a great job of getting involved in exciting community events.
