IGT’s new Cloud link has gone live on poker machines at all Aspers Casinos in the UK. The Cloud is a new innovation that allows IGT to deliver gaming resources and software remotely to a collection of land-based poker machines, ultimately improving the player experience and streamlining casino management.
A ground-breaking development, the IGT’s rollout of Cloud technology marks the first time that this system has been used in UK casinos. It is an important undertaking and continues to strengthen IGT’s status as an innovative land-based gaming developer. Using Cloud technology, managers at Aspers Casinos across the United Kingdom have access to a wide range of IGT games and themes.
They can change which games are offered on the casino floor, offering up an ideal combination of titles that will keep players engaged. The benefit of using Cloud technology is that casino operators can compile data for a number of games at once. Previously, data had to be collected from individual games, a long process.
Now, the Cloud allows casino managers to instantly analyse their game’s data to determine how to optimize the gaming floor. “Through the IGT Cloud we have the ability to deploy IGT sbX® technology across multiple sites to evaluate the performance of games to offer the best and newest games to our players, in a much more cost-effective manner than ever before,” says Mark Beattie, Head of Gaming at Aspers.
The IGT Cloud system will go live on 103 pokies at Aspers’ four UK casinos. This is the first time that a Cloud-based system will be used in any UK gambling venue, so it is an exciting venture for both Aspers and IGT. With luck, other casino operators in the country will catch wind of the new innovation and work with IGT to provide their own venues with Cloud gaming technology.
