Earlier this month, Australia gambling operator StarCity Entertainment launched a deal with Adelaide to redevelop the area in return for a tax break. Recently, Southern Australia politicians stated that no such thing would happen, but StarCity is still hoping that it will obtain some sort of tax break in return for its good deeds. Treasurer Jack Snelling stated that Sky City was "dreaming" if it hoped for any sort of tax break.
Despite this statement, the gaming company has stated that it remains hopeful that a fruitful business relationship will emerge from its work with the Adelaide area. As such, Sky City announced that it will still continue to work towards redeveloping Adelaide's Riverside Precinct. The Southern Australia government is not completely opposed to reconsidering its gambling taxes, however.
Officials stated that policians in the area would still consider changing its gambling regulations, but that it would be considered separately from the StarCity redevelopment. So, things still look good for StarCity Entertainment, who is seeking to lower Southern Australia gambling taxes to rates that resemble those in other areas across the country.
