James Packer, head of Crown Casinos in Australia, has struck up a new romance. According to various news outlets the casino mogul is now dating Mariah Carey, as the pair were spotted on holiday in Italy. According to the Daily Mail, Mariah Carey and James Packer were seen strolling through Capri whilst holding hands.
While the pairing may seem unlikely, it has been rumoured that Packer has been ‘aggressively pursuing’ Carey for months. They have been friends for quite some time, and now they are taking their relationship to the next level. Prior to their ‘extended holiday’ in Italy, the pair spent time together in Las Vegas.
They were in town for the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight. It seems that they certainly enjoy each other’s company, as they continue to hang out together. With a playboy reputation, Packer has been romantically linked to many different beauties. In 2013, he dated supermodel Miranda Kerr who had recently broken up with Orlando Bloom. He also dated models Joan Severance and Jennifer Flavin.
Carey also has an interesting romantic past. She was married to music executive Tommy Mottola for five years in the early 2000s. In 2007, she married comedian Nick Cannon, who is the father of her 4-year-old twins. The couple divorced earlier this year. Packer, on his own, has been making headlines in Australia for months.
Crown Resorts will begin construction on its high roller gambling venue in Sydney, opening up in 2019 and ending Echo Entertainment’s exclusivity in the city. His company is also up against Echo Entertainment in a bid to obtain a gambling license in Brisbane, as the Queensland government decides which operate will be given permission to build a casino resort in the capital.
