You won’t mind being marooned on this desert island, as you have Robinson for company and a fairly fine camp he’s got going, complete with roaring fire. Standing to the left of the reels, which are set in the middle of two palm trees abundant with coconuts, Robinson has clearly not been there for long, as he’s not yet too emaciated and is pretty chirpy.
He watches the reels as you spin them, sometimes taking a cheeky sip of a coconut cocktail hidden behind his back, and he even does a little victory dance if you land a winning combo. If you spin a big win, he floats up in the air as golden coins fall at his feet. The soundtrack is pleasantly Caribbean, with steel drums matching the tropical feel of the background, which has a volcano and a half-sunken ship beyond the beach.
A cute red crab scuttles along the bottom of the reels, which contain a barrel Robinson uses to mark how many days he’s been on the island, a conch, starfish, volcano and a map. The gameplay buttons are all set against the rocks surrounding Robinson’s camp, and a cheeky squawking monkey jumps out sometimes as he gazes through his telescope.
The reels are set in between two palm trees, in a 3x5 layout, with the Spin and Max Bet buttons in the bottom centre of the screen. You can set your number of lines and bet per line on the left and see your credits, balance and choose your coin on the right. The lowest-paying icons are the barrel, conch and starfish, followed by the pineapple face and volcano.
What you really want to spin are the higher-paying coconut, rock, map and fire and also Robinson himself digging a hole, as he acts as a 2x multiplier. The largest amount you can win from any tile is 1000 credits, so you’ll need to watch our for Wilds, Scatters and Bonus rounds to increase your winnings.
The Scatters, which are the top of a palm tree, pay out 450 for five, but more importantly, they give you 10 Free Spins. A flag blowing in the breeze is the Wild, which substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter and Bonus to help players create winning lines. The exciting Bonus icon takes you to another part of the island and a fun game where a row of five totems will invite you to guess which one is hiding a prize.
And if that isn’t enough to keep you motivated, there’s another challenge in the double game feature, where Robinson plays a dice game to help him count how many minutes, hours and days he’s been marooned. You simply have to guess which number is going to come up in order to bag yet more credits.
With lively, colourful graphics and plenty of bonus features, Robinson will keep you entertained as you wait for the rescue ship to take you home.
