As one of the most lucrative industries in the world, it is important for gambling firms to do their part for charity. Poker machine manufacturer Aristocrat is working hard to give back to the community, especially after its Las Vegas staff donated $22 000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Every year, Aristocrat donates upwards of $100 000 to local charities across Las Vegas.
In this recent initiative, the company brought in $22,980 by taking part in the Make-A-Wish Walk. Aristocrat sponsored the event and sponsored 10 participants. Make-A-Wish is a foundation that offers life-changing experiences to children who are suffering with life-threatening illnesses. Over the years, the organisation has helped to brighten the lives of thousands of children around the world.
Another initiative that helped raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation was Fast for February. Throughout the money of February, Aristocrat employees gave up their favourite food or drink. The money that they would have spent on that product was then donated to the cause. Both the Make-A-Wish Walk and Fast for February made $11 490, and Aristocrat matched the donation.
“This initiative is a creative way to motivate employees to give back while giving up something they love. We are so grateful for our partnership with Aristocrat employees,” says Caroline Ciocca, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada. “As a company, they are changing lives and delivering hope to kids who need it most.”
It is great to see such a successful gaming industry operator doing such generous things with its revenue. Companies like Aristocrat earn millions of dollars every year, and it is admirable when they give back to the community in such a valuable way.
