The Aussie Millions is one of the biggest poker tournaments in the Australian gambling market. Millions of dollars are up for grabs, available to the best poker players in the country and from around the world. The buy-in for the tournament is quite expensive, so amateur players have the chance to win a seat by taking part in satellites.
On Saturday, January 12, Crown Poker will be hosting a satellite tournament for the Aussie Millions Main Event. The buy-in for the satellite is $550. While it may be more expensive than some recreational players are willing to spend, an actual seat at the Aussie Millions Main Event costs $10 600 – so, you certainly get good value for your money.
At Crown Poker, all players in the satellite will receive 25 000 chips and the blinds will begin at 25/50. The event offers 10 seats into the Aussie Millions Main Event. Additional seats will be awarded for every extra $10 600 that exceeds the guaranteed prize pool. Late registration is available until 4:10pm. Players can also win seats into the main event at Poker Stars. Buy-ins for these tournaments range from $1.10 to $700.
Cheaper satellites will award players qualifier seats while more expensive tournaments will award seats directly into the Aussie Millions Main Event. There are also $215 satellites available twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing players with plenty of chances to win a seat. The Aussie Millions tournament begins January 23, 2014 with a $1100 No Limit Hold’em Tournament.
The main event begins on Sunday, February 2nd at 2:15pm. There are several other tournaments, including the LK Boutique $250 000 Challenge and a $2500 Omaha comp. For more information about Aussie Millions satellites, visit: http://www.aussiemillions.com/schedule.
