The Australasian Gaming Expo is now underway, as the event celebrates its 25th anniversary. For over 25 years, the AGE has brought together key members of the Australian gambling market to share ideas and innovations. This year, the event will take place at the new Sydney Exhibition Centre on Glebe Island.
Over 180 exhibitors will be showcasing their latest technology and innovations on the impressive 15,600 square metre showroom floor. 180 exhibitors is quite an impressive turnout, especially considering that there are only 19 casino operators across Australia and New Zealand. Although the size of the Australasian market itself is quite small, many local exhibitors have come out to this year’s event.
These companies include smaller suppliers such as Global Payment Technologies Australia, Karo Australia, Ricmar and Australian Interior Landscapes and GLI. Some of the bigger exhibitors will be poker machine operators, such as Aristocrat, Ainsworth, IGT, Konami and Bally Technologies. Since pokies remain the most popular type of gambling in the market, it is no surprise that these companies will have a large presence at the event.
“AGE is when we roll out some of our best games,” says Nigel Turner of IGT. “Our global strength allows us to tailor the latest games and technology for our local markets across Australia and New Zealand.” The Australasian gambling market continues to grow and expand, as both local and international operators offer new innovations for Australian and New Zealand residents.
So, it is important for these companies to share their ideas amongst each other to keep the marketing competitive and always moving forward. The event will run until August 14 and it will be open from 10am to 5pm. On the last day, the event will close early at 3pm. Online registration is now closed, but you can register in person at the AGE.
