At the G2E Global Gaming Expo, it is not only a time for gaming industry professionals to show off their wares; it is also a time when the industry recognizes greatness and innovation. This year, the G2E Global Gaming Awards honoured some of the top performers in the market, including NetEntertainment, GTECH G2 and Microgaming.
This year, the Digital Product of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards went to Microgaming. The award recognizes a major innovation by an online gaming provider. The product in question was the Terminator 2 online pokie, which was launched by Microgaming earlier this year. The game was an instant hit in the online casino market, lauded by both players and critics as an action-packed title with great winning potential.
“I take this opportunity to say a big well done to everyone involved in our game development, this is an award for you all,” says Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming.
Net Entertainment was also honoured at the awards ceremony. The company received the Digital Gaming Innovation of the Year. Over the course of the year, Net Entertainment has consistently released new and innovative titles that have impressed players from around the world. Games like South Park, Attraction and Go Bananas have received critical acclaim in the casino market, and Net Entertainment certainly deserves its recent award.
GTECH G2 also hit it big at the event, earning two awards: Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the Year and Digital Industry Supplier of the Year. The first award was granted to GTECH’s Action Jackpots™, which provides a four-level progressive jackpot network. The second award was awarded to GTECH’s “total solution” package, which put customers first and demonstrates the company’s dedication to integrity and responsibility.
“Innovation forms the backbone of our company’s success,” commented Victor Duarte, GTECH Sr. VP, Gaming and Content.
