The competition for a Brisbane casino license continues to heat up, as Jupiters Gold Coast announces its plans for a $350 million makeover. To compete with Crown Resorts’ proposal for a high-end casino resort, Echo Entertainment has revealed details of its luxury renovation for Jupiters Gold Coast. The casino operator plans to build a 17-story six-star hotel for guests at the venue.
The rooms will be fitted out with impressive facilities, as many will have more than 3 bedrooms. Others will feature home offices, theatres and private karaoke rooms. The luxury accommodation is geared towards attracting high roller players and VIPs. The casino floor will also be revamped to include several levels of gaming. They will feature floor-to-ceiling windows that offer ocean views, and there will also be a rooftop entertainment complex.
“The facilities will be opulent and fantastic to visit,” says Geoff Hogg, Managing Director of Echo Entertainment Queensland. “They will be the best rooms in the country when they open. The wow factor will be both indoors and outdoors. It’s pretty special.” The proposal for the renovation sets itself apart from other tenders because it does not require any additional government approval.
For example, Crown Resorts’ proposed venue would require planning permissions because it is a new build; however, Jupiters has already obtained all of the permissions needed to go ahead with its plan. While the casino operator makes headway with its renovation plans for Jupiters Gold Coast, Echo Entertainment also continues to vie for a new gambling license for an integrated casino resort in Brisbane.
Whether or not Echo Entertainment receives approval for the new venue, the Jupiters Gold Coast renovation will still go ahead.
