A recent study by Roy Morgan Research has found that Jupiters Gold Coast has the highest rate of resident gamblers in Australia. The Gold Coast is one of the most likely places to attract local visitors to its casino, and Jupiters is reaping the benefits. According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, Roy Morgan found that 12% of all patrons at Gold Coast Jupiters are local residents.
It is interesting to note that the cities with the largest casinos has the lowest proportion of resident gamblers, as they make up only 3.1% of the population of players at Sydney casinos and 6.7% at Melbourne casinos. The results are as follows: Gold Coast: 12% Townsville 10.6% Perth: 9.1% Adelaide: 8.5% Hobart: 7.1% Melbourne: 6.7% Brisbane: 3.9% Sydney: 3.1%
Geoff Hogg, Managing Director of Echo Entertainment Queensland, is pleased with the results. He takes them as a sign that Jupiters continues to provide a great range of entertainment that appeals to both locals and tourists. “Jupiters certainly holds a lot of great memories for locals and we get a lot of feedback from guests along these lines, so it’s fantastic to see the research reflect this,” he says.
“We always want to be a place locals continue to enjoy and be proud of, as well as driving tourism to the Gold Coast.” Local results note that they always get a warm welcome when they visit, and they feel comfortable visiting the location. The casino has also been lauded because it is convenient for locals to visit.
Many patrons who visit the casino are not particular interested in gambling; due to its great dining options and entertainment venues, Jupiters Gold Coast is a very popular destination for non-gamblers, as well. You can review the full findings by browsing the Roy Morgan report.
