Last year, Melco Crown started production on a star-studded short film called The Audition to promote its new Macao Studio City casino. Today, the casino operator has released a trailer for the film. Have a look:

The trailer provides a sneak peek at the plot. Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio visit Macao to work on a project with famed movie director Martin Scorsese. Upon meeting at the casino, he informs them that will be competing for the same part in the movie. However, he reassures them that they will have a great time at the casino during the audition process. In the trailer, we see Scorsese, De Niro and DiCaprio.

They are certainly the main cast – and, there are a few frames that feature Brad Pitt. He has a role in the film, but it has not been revealed, so this will certainly entice viewers.

“Our hope is that the trailer for The Audition gives audiences an early look into what will surely be an important cinematic experience directed by one of the most culturally influential directors in the history of Hollywood films,” says Brett Ratner, whose production company RatPac Entertainment is producting the film. This short film will be ground-breaking in a number of ways.

Firstly, it makes the first time that Scorsese, De Niro and DiCaprio will be working a film together. It is also one of the most expensive short films ever produced and it will set a new standard for tourism promotion and casino marketing. The Audition will premiere at the launch of Studio City later this year.
