We are seeing plenty of new technology in the entertainment sector, and more and more consumers are purchasing items like tablet computers, wearable tech and smart televisions. It is important for gaming operators to get in on the ground floor and begin offering apps for this new technology – and, Playsion seems to be one of the first companies to do so.
This week, Playsino announced the launch of its new Bingo Home application, which will be available for use on Samsung’s Smart TVs. While it is a gambling-based game, it is designed to be family-friendly. So, there is no real-money wagering involved. A report in Venture Beat notes that the new game has been created through a partnership with Bonanza Media and DreamsWorks Animation.
It is based on the upcoming movie Home, an animated film that features the voices of Jennifer Lopez, Steve Martin and Jim Parsons. There are two modes available. In the first, players engage in a Bingo Game that plays out much like other Bingo titles from Playsino. As players complete games of Bingo, they travel through rooms to collect special items and power ups.
The second mode is a ‘race mode’, which allows players to hook their personal mobile devices up to the television. Then, they compete in a race through space to Earth. “You can all have a second-screen experience. It’s a fun angle,” says Alex Kelly, Chief of Playsino. Bingo Home is the first in what we imagine will be many new Smart TV casino apps.
It demonstrates that there is major potential for gambling operators to take advantage of new technological innovations. We can certainly see plenty of similar innovations in 2015, and we are eager to see what’s next in the Smart TV gaming market.
