Playtech has been working on its virtual sports technology for over a year, working with the world’s leading developers and motion-capture artists to create is being touted as ‘as close to the real game as anyone has ever achieved’. Now, Playtech’s Virtual Tennis is now available for online casino operators to offer their players. To create this innovative game, Playtech worked in one of the largest film studios from Warner Brothers.

Over the course of three weeks, the development team used over 100 cameras to capture graphics for the Virtual Sports series. Professional athletes were involved in the process, acting out their performances under competition conditions in a technique that is similar to the special effect used in Avatar. “The team has done a phenomenal job and we’re delighted and incredibly proud of the results,” says Elliott Norris, Head of Virtual Sports at Playtech. “The graphics are mind-blowing and we are the only company able to offer full sports simulations meaning that betting and gameplay are as realistic as possible.”

The Virtual Sports selection from Playtech has been ‘future-proofed’, which means that the games will cater to the evolving needs of players. This means that tournaments, matches and leagues will all be available, providing players with the full range of features that they would find in any sports video game.

Norris continues: "Our Virtual Tennis product is unlike anything the industry has ever seen and feels as if you are courtside watching a Grand Slam” While the main draw of the game is the graphics, the new Virtual Tennis is impressive from all angles. Playtech also put a significant focus on back-end simulation, which ensures that real-life sports have been accurately replicated in terms of gameplay, user experiences and betting odds.

Virtual Tennis will be made available at a wide range of Playtech-powered online casinos. Licensees will be able offer up various virtual sports fames from Playtech, such as football, horse-racing and basketball which will be released later in the year.
