Full Tilt Poker has recently announced its expansion into the casino gambling market by launching casino games and pokies. The move will help the company hone in on other areas of the online gambling industry to boost profits. While it is a wise decision, Full Tilt’s owner Poker Stars will not be following suit any time soon. According to Steve Day of PokerStars, the site will remain ‘poker only’.
He confirmed this fact during an in-depth Question and Answer period on the 2+2 Poker Forums last week. “There are no plans at this time for casino games in the PokerStars client,” he said. “I suppose you can never say never, but right now 'We are Poker’ and nothing else”. It was in January 2014 that Full Tilt Poker began offering online casino games in addition to its wide range of poker offerings.
The company started out with Blackjack and Roulette. Both games are available in both single and multiplayer modes. At the moment, poker machines and slots are not yet available but Full Tilt Poker will be introducing these titles to the site later this year. The games will be provided by Leander Games, who has produced a wide range of themed online pokies. Popular titles include online pokies based on MegaDeath and Dolly Parton.
The new titles will introduce online poker players to a wide range of unique online slots, giving them a break from the high pressure world of skill-based casino games. By adding roulette, blackjack and online pokies, Full Tilt Poker will be able to compete with companies like 888 and Party Casino. These companies are known for offering online poker in addition to a full suite of casino games.
However, Poker Stars will remain an online poker operator exclusively.
