Bubble Group BV has had its gaming license revoked by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). The company operated Sheriff Gaming, a company that is known for its innovative 3D online pokies. Now, the online pokies will be operated by Blue Gem Gaming, but few other details have been revealed.
Bubble Group was put in the hot seat in September 2013 when local gaming regulators and legal authorities accused Bubble Group of being involved in drug dealing, money laundering and illegal gambling campaigns. The company’s licensed was suspended at that time. Shortly after that, Sheriff Gaming CEO Stijn Flapper was arrested on suspicion of forgery, illegal gambling, forgery and being involved with a criminal organization.
He was recently denied bail by local authorities, but Sheriff Gaming itself expects to be cleared from association with any illegal activities. This week, the Bubble Gaming declared bankruptcy and the AGCC finally revoked the company’s license. Along with the withdrawal of the license, 100 bank accounts and 80 properties were seized by authorities. Now, it seems the Blue Gem has taken over operation of Sherriff Gaming.
The new Blue Gem Gaming website looks almost exactly like the website formerly operated by Sheriff Gaming. It features all of the same games, so it is safe to assume that Blue Gem will be operating Sheriff Gaming’s titles. However, we are unsure about the company’s future and whether or not Blue Gem will continue creating the same type of online pokies.
It is hoped that Blue Gem Gaming will continue creating the type of high quality 3D pokies that Sheriff Gaming had become known for. However, it is too soon to tell. It will certainly be a while before the dust clears and we will know for sure how Blue Gem Gaming will proceed.
