The emergence of yet another gambling destination is on the horizon, as the Philippines prepares to welcome even more high roller players from around the world. Macau continues to suffer while authorities crackdown on corruption, and players are setting their sights on Manila as the next best option for luxurious gambling experiences.

Recently, Sino-American Gaming Investment Group and Macau Resources Group Ltd. announced their plans to build two new casino resorts outside of Metro Manila, investing billions into the projects.
This comes just months after Melco Crown released its trailer for the new City of Dreams casino resort in Manila. Starring Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio, the trailer established the new property as a luxurious venue for high rolling players. It certainly sets the tone for Manila, as it emerges as one of the world’s top gaming destinations.
Manila BayShore and Manila BayResorts are two other new casino resorts that will be opening up in the city over the course of the next few years. Their operators are working hard to cash in on the booming gambling economy that the Philippines presents, offering visitors fantastic gaming experiences in state-of-the-art properties.
The Philippines is certainly showing signs of a gambling boom, as its revenue continues to grow. Over the course of 2014, the country’s casinos earned $2.5 billion – a 16% increase on the previous year. Analysts anticipate that the country’s gaming industry will see a further 20% in growth by 2018.
This growth may impact gaming in Australia, as Manila casinos will be vying for the same types of players that Australian operators want to attract. Chinese gamblers may begin choosing Manila as their preferred casino destination over venues like The Star in Sydney and Crown Melbourne.
