Full Tilt isn’t the online poker site that is branching out into other areas of the online gambling market; Poker Stars is also taking the multipurpose gaming route. This week, the company announced that it will be launching table games and sports betting globally, so players around the world will be able to log on to Poker Stars and play pokies, blackjack and roulette – and wager on their favourite sports teams.
Starting this month, Poker Stars will offer blackjack and roulette. Variations of these titles will be rolled out until the end of the year. Starting in 2015, the site will be adding a wider range of table games which may include craps, baccarat and single-player poker games. Next year, Poker Stars also hopes to launch a full-featured casino, which will including online pokies. It will be available for desktop and mobile platforms.
“We are confident these games will create more value to our PokerStars site and bolster the core poker offering,” says Eric Hollreiser, PokerStar’s Head of Corporate Communications. “We are committed to extending our leadership in poker and will continue to serve the passionate online poker player, while expanding our reach into new audiences and new gaming opportunities.”
Full Tilt, which is also owned by Amaya Gaming, has recently launched into the world of online casino games. The new online pokies and table games have certainly boosted activity on the site, renewing player interest in the site. While PokerStars remains a top performer in the online gambling world, there is no harm in boosting its profits and player activity.
The addition of casino games to the site could certainly help to enforce its position as a leader in the online gaming market.
