Echo Entertainment has announced its plans to spend nearly $1 billion renovating the Star City Casino in New South Wales. After making a profit in excess of $200 million last year, the operator decided that modernizing its most popular casino would help to increase profits even more over the next couple of years.
Of the $960 million that is being spent on the casino renovations, most of the money will be spent on features other than the casino floor. Only 20% will be allocated to the renovation of the game floor, modernizing it to meet the standards of gambling in the top casinos around the world. The rest of the money will be spent on building a new casino and a new restaurant on site.
The construction of the new hotel will mark the first time since the 2000 Sydney Olympics that a new hotel has been built in the city. The new restaurant will be a world-class dining area, in which casino goers will be treated to high-quality fare. The renovation will also see to it that the casino takes advantage of its remarkable location on the waterfront.
The operator wants to ensure that players can look out of the windows and see the city skyline, so the game floor and restaurant will be moved to face the sea. The renovations are an exciting undertaking for Echo Entertainment, and it is hard to see why anyone wouldn't want to visit the new and improved Star City Casino once the renovations are over.
