Poker remains one of the most popular gambling activities across Australia and around the world. To continue to promote growth in the poker industry, the World Series of Poker is making plans to host the largest poker tournament ever. The event will take place at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It will begin on May 27 2015, and it will run for 49 days.
There will be several events running every day, such as satellites, cash games, gold bracelet tournaments and deep stacks. It will certainly be an exciting event, and will attract players from around the world. “We believe the WSOP is uniquely able to deliver the big event with life-changing money for some and a life-experience for all,” says Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the WSOP.
“We are going to proudly stage the kinds of events which draw players from all around the world while also staying true to our heritage of contesting all variants of poker.” One of the biggest events in the tournament is called “The Colossus”, which will start on May 29 and May 30. There is a $5 million prize pool guaranteed, offering competitors the chance to earn a huge pay day.
The buy in will be just $565, making it the lowest buy-in for any WSOP event in the history of the series. Another highly anticipate event is the Millionaire Maker, which will run from June 5 to June 6. The buy in will cost $1500 investment and the winner will earn at least $1 million. Last year, the event drew in nearly 8000 runners, and the prize pool was worth $10.7 million.
