We are seeing a trend of more and more social games operators expanding into the real-money gambling market. First, Zynga made the leap into real-money gambling, and now Glu Mobile is following suit. The wheels have been in motion for quite some time, and now it seems that Glu is just about ready to take off. According to investment website Seeking Alpha, Glu mobile is not far off from being ready to launch its own online casino.
Over the course of the past few months, Glu Mobile has made some valuable associations to help boost itself into the real-money gambling world – including a partnership with Probability PLC and an investment in Bee Cave Games. Both of these associations will give Glu Mobile a leg up in the real-money social casino market.
Probably PLC has a great deal of experience in launching successful mobile slots that have performed well against competitors. Bee Cave Games will also benefit Glu Mobile, as it is a fresh face in the online casino world. “We were pleased with the initial player response to Samurai vs. Zombies Defense Slots and continue to see a significant long-term opportunity in the mobile real-money gambling market,” says Niccolo de Masi, CEO of Glu.
“Our partnership with Probability allows us to offer the highest quality mobile casino products in the UK and we look forward to extending these offerings as additional markets adjust regulations.”
Alpha Seeker also notes that Glu Mobile has been taking baby steps in the real-money gambling world, which will pay off in the long term. Right now, the company already has some games on the Skillz real-money gambling platform and it has two social casino games in the beta stage.
Now, it seems like it is only a matter of time before Glu launches its real-money social casino app.
