Willy Wonka is a mysterious and eccentric character in Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In 1971, it was made into a film starring legendary comedian Gene Wilder. In the story, Willy Wonka owns a chocolate factory and hides five golden tickets inside his famous Wonka Bars.
The children who find the tickets are given a special tour of his elusive factory, but during the tour, each of the children does something mischevious to get them kicked out. Eventually, a child named Charlie is the only child left and Willy Wonka informs him that he will inherit the factory.
In 2005, the film was remade. It was directed by Tim Burton and starred Johnny Depp – bringing the magic of The Chocolate Factory to a whole new generation.
