Batman and the Penguin Prize Introduction
Batman has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years, with new movies hitting the silver screen. Batman and the Penguin Prize from Playtech is however somewhat retro in style, and features 3 reels and a far more cheerful theme than that of the Dark Knight and similar franchise movie releases.
The slightly cheesier version of Batman in his tights makes a comeback in this game and the bright colours and blocky design of the game is hugely appealing, despite being a little basic. Even those not that familiar with the caped crusader will recognise the symbols on the reels, and there’s the batman insignia, an umbrella, the Penguin, a top hat and the beloved British butler, Alfred, all in attendance.
The soundtrack is similarly retro and it gives the game a slightly kitsch but cool feel.
Match and win
Rather than following the more traditional pokies format, Batman and the Penguin Prize is a little different. Instead of selecting paylines and lining up winning combinations, you’ll have to match symbols across 3 reels, all watched over by the Penguin himself. If you’re lucky enough to unlock a bonus, the Penguin will vanish and another 3 reels will appear in his place.
With the 3 reels in play, there are 64 ways to win, but when the other 3 are unlocked, this increases to a whopping 4096 potential winning combinations.
Big Batman prizes
By defeating the Penguin’s dastardly plan, you’ll be handsomely rewarded and a match of 3, 4 or 6 symbols on the reels is just the start. The more symbols you line up on the reels, the bigger the prize, and as one might expect, Batman is the symbol with the highest value attached. There’s also a Wild, that’s represented by the bat symbol, and this can complete any line win, at any time.
There are also 4 progressive jackpots in play, and although you’re just having fun for free, it’s great fun to see if you can try and trigger them. If you manage to trigger the jackpot you’ll be taken to a second screen where you need to choose from a number of icons, in order to light up a segment of the screen.
The area you light up in its entirety first will be the jackpot you win. To make it all the more exciting, there’s a timer, and if it runs down, your chance at jackpot glory in Batman and the Penguin Prize will be gone for good.
